The musical part of my life started back in the eighties. I had written a lot of poetry and thought I'd take a shot at lyric writing and purchased Sheila Davis' The Craft Of Lyric Writing and other books.
In 1996, I wrote a lyric called Better Things Than You, then had it demoed. The following year I pitched Better Things to publishers, accepting material, and heard back from one publisher right after he received it. Allan Licht of ABL Music wanted to publish the song, and it was at that time I became affiliated with BMI. Dainel Jackson of Castle Records/Tower Music Group recorded the song in July of 2001. Released (July 2003) on her new debut CD, entitled 'Better Things Than You'. Since signing my song, Allan and I co-wrote 2 more songs, called My Heart's Comin' For You and Night Wolf Lover, and Night Wolf Lover was recorded by Eileen Balzano for her Steppin In debut CD (2000).
Have had several of my songs recorded by indie artists, a music track used on the CBC-Radio Canada TV Network in Quebec. Track used in TRAGIC SIDE OF FAME CUES - TRAGIC SIDE OF FAME 2 - BIO, and BIOGRAPHY CUES - HOT FAMOUS AND FORTY. Have had songs kept for major artists consideration. Cues used on MTV's The Catfish Show & Suspect.
Song used in a Monica Stevenson Photography Food Reel (2017)

The "Semi-Finalist" placement is the highest placement next only to
the one winner and four finalists from each category. The next five
highest placing songs (under the "Semi-Finalist" placements) are the
"Runner-Ups". Both the "Semi-Finalist" and "Runner-Up" placements
indicate that your songs were in the top 1% of all of the entries in the contest.
The male vocals on both songs sound very professional and both songs
have wonderful production qualities!
Receiving two placements within the same contest is fairly uncommon.
Great job and congratulations on your songwriting placements!

The ""Semi-Finalist"" placement is the highest songwriting placement next only to the one winner and four finalists. Receiving this placement indicates I was just a few points away from the Finalist placement. Only the top writers receive this placement.
